Description

Raspberry Pi computers have become a versatile tool in the development of applications such as server hosting, data base management, data analysis, being the brains of a biomedical device, and machine learning. The affordability and versatility of these devices has promise in the field of healthcare, where patient data and interaction has become increasingly digitized. This course will introduce raspberry pi devices and python programming in conjunction with hands-on projects to give students the opportunity to explore concepts that will shape the future. In this 5-day course students will gain experience using the Linux based operating system Raspbian, learn how to navigate using text commands in the command shell, Python programing operations and syntax, data analysis operations, and how to program for use with peripheral devices. All of this will be taught in the context of the healthcare field for applications such as biomedical device development, managing/maintaining patient health data, and analysis of anonymized patient data to study health trends.
