Description

This program is designed for learners who already have some prior exposure to quantum computing. (Prerequisite interview required) The students will be guided through understanding several of the foundational circuits leading to the ability for creating a simple quantum circuit. The foundational aspects of necessary mathematical and computing concepts will be quickly reviewed. Students will focus on developing algorithms for specific problems, by first deriving classical solutions then quantum-based solutions.

Prerequisites:

  • Learners should have basic familiarity with the Python programming language and have some working knowledge of a gate-model quantum computer, specifically the IBM Q. A pre-registration interview with an instructor is necessary.)
  • To ensure social interaction with the instructors and classmates, and for the desired enrichment and learning atmosphere, learners are expected to have ample access to a functional personal computer, an effective Internet connection, a microphone, and a webcam.
  • For students under the age of 18, explicit parental permission to use the IBM Q quantum computer will be required.
