The biomedical industry is a multibillion-dollar market that is growing rapidly and offers many future career options. In recent years, the use of 3D printing and Bioprinting technology has been a hot topic. 3D printing has already established its use in creating medical models for surgical planning and functional prosthetic devices for a personalized fit. Additionally, applying it to bioprinting fully functional organs and implants has been successful in several cases. In this introductory course, students will explore emerging careers in the biomedical industry, with a focus on 3D printing, and its current/future applications. Students will get hands-on experience with the basics of 3D printing and explore its biomedical applications.
